Residents Received Honors at the 2016 Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference (MARC)

The annual Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference (MARC) took place in Minneapolis, MN on APRIL 8-10. Seven residents earned honors for their work.

Ten residents presented at the Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference (MARC) hosted by University of Western Ontario, Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.  This yearly meeting, which began at the University of Iowa in 1961, has grown into the largest anesthesia resident’s conference in North America and in the world, with attendance approaching (and sometimes exceeding) 700 individuals each year. MARC has a long history as a conference where residents, fellows, medical students, and faculty share prevailing ideas in the rapidly expanding medical specialty of anesthesiology. The conference draws professionals from over 33 academic institutions to present scientific abstracts including case reports, and attend educational panels in an atmosphere of professional collegiality.

Seven residents earned honors for their work. The awards received were:

Alexander Hincker – 1st Place
Govind Rangrass - 2nd Place
Jasmine Swaniker – 1st Place
Saad Syed – 3rd Place
Jessica Wilkin – 1st Place
