Debra Pulley, MD Elected President of SPAQI

Dr. Debra Pulley of the General Anesthesia Division at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-South, was elected President of the professional organization SPAQI (Society for Perioperative Assessment and Quality Improvement) effective February 2014. SPAQI was formed in 2006 with the goal of bringing together a variety of professionals in various disciplines to work on optimizing surgical outcomes. There are currently 200 members including administrators, anesthesiologists, internists, nurses, and surgeons from around the world.
Debra Pulley, MD
Pulley, a Washington University Department of Anesthesiology faculty member since 1992, has a long-term interest in preoperative optimization and perioperative quality improvement dating back to her role as Medical Director of Department of Anesthesiology’s CPAP (Center for Preoperative Assessment and Planning) from 2004-2009. Pulley will serve a two-year term as president of SPAQI and her goals are to develop long-term plans for future growth and development of the organization. Her duties include being the co-director of the Annual Perioperative Medicine Summit held in February, which SPAQI cosponsors.
