Patrick O’Neill to Receive MBoC Paper of the Year Award

Patrick O’Neill of the Department of Anesthesiology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, was named by the Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC) Editorial Board as recipient of the 24th annual MBoC Paper of the Year Award. As a postdoc in N. Gautam’s lab, O’Neill was first author of the article “Subcellular optogenetic inhibition of G proteins generates signaling gradients and cell migration” (Mol. Biol. Cell 25, 2305–2314). O’Neill will present his research at a Minisymposium at the ASCB Meeting in San Diego this December. The MBoC Paper of the Year is selected each year by the Editorial Board from among papers published in the journal between June of the previous year and May of the present year that have a postdoc or student as the first author.
